Food Review: Pierogi from a Polish Milk Bar

Image
Milk bars abound in Poland. They were named as such because the cafeterias used to serve cheese cutlets during the reign of Communism in the country as a form of government subsidy. Retaining the name despite not serving milk or cheese exclusively, now, milk bars are famous for dishing out inexpensive Polish staple foods. My friend and I ate at Bar Bambino, somewhere in Warsaw. She fancied interviewing me about pierogi. It's my first time doing a food review. Haha!  Watch my video and comment on the channel. I would like to know your thoughts on pierogi, as I have only tasted a few. My favorite is pierogi in soup, which I ordered in one of the restaurants at the Royal Route.

Warsaw, Poland is a Must-See Before Winter

Many tourists flock to Winter Wonderland locations. They say Warsaw is a place to experience the majestic feeling of seeing blankets of snow. Try it during Fall, when it is cold but not freezing, and when it is sunny but not scorching. Here's a video to show what the capital of Poland looks and feels like before Winter.

Watch how she did it and did it well. Learn which country left a surprising mark.

Bloopers: Funny Travel Moments in Europe

Image
These are just some of the happy scenes we captured on our trip to Prague and Warsaw. When you're just three ladies roaming the city, and you only had to walk, chat, and eat the whole time, laughter is truly inevitable. The train even left one of us behind, with the other two unaware! Haha!  Watch this.

Living in Prague, Czech Republic as a Filipino

Image
My recent visit to Prague, Czech Republic led me to the idea of asking for more information about staying there. It is a beautiful country, full of culture and life.  My friend and former colleague, Rysa Alenzuela, LL.B., Ph.D., is the best person to provide the details I wanted for my short video. She has been living there for some time now. We're proud of her because she's the first Asian (Filipino) to head a prestigious institution.  Watch it and learn more about Prague. You'll love to visit after.

Getting Cold in Copenhagen

Image
Should I retitle it into "Coping in Copenhagen"? I underestimated Fall and did not bring my Winter jackets because they are heavy. Flying to this side of Europe, I regretted not coming prepared, weatherwise. In short, my very first tip is to not hesitate to bundle up when you are traveling in Fall. I ended up suffering from colds and occasional coughs. I thought it was COVID 2.0 for me. But thank God, I tested negative. Sadly, though, my son got the cold, too. Anyway, there is so much more to Denmark than the coldness it brought to my Asian skin and lungs. We enjoyed the clean and green parks, the crisp air despite the presence of automobiles, and all the other Europe stuff and sights that wowed my eyes (watch the video).  As for food, it is funny because I went for Thai food for my first lunch. It's in the video. It cost me DKK300 (about PhP2,300 for three kinds of dishes good for two to three people). Yes, pricey! This leads me to my third takeaway: The cost of living...
