Our latest chit-chat was with The Travel Peoples' mainstay, author and flight attendant Lia Ocampo.  A serial traveler, not only because of work but also because of her passion, Lia embarked on a four-country journey in Europe, with two different stopovers in France and Turkey.   These are just some of the happy scenes we captured on our trip to Prague and Warsaw. When you're just three ladies roaming the city, and you only had to walk, chat, and eat the whole time, laughter is truly inevitable. The train even left one of us behind, with the other two unaware! My recent visit to Prague, Czech Republic led me to the idea of asking for more information about staying there. It is a beautiful country, full of culture and life.  My friend and former colleague, Rysa Alenzuela, LL.B., Ph.D., is the best person to provide the details I wanted for my short video. She has been living there for some time now. We're proud of her because she's the first Asian (Filipino) to head a prestigious institution.  Watch it and learn more about Prague.   Should I retitle it into "Coping in Copenhagen"? I underestimated Fall and did not bring my Winter jackets because they are heavy. Flying to this side of Europe, I regretted not coming prepared, weatherwise. In short, my very first tip is to not hesitate to bundle up when you are traveling in Fall. I ended up suffering from colds and occasional coughs. I thought it was COVID 2.0 for me. But thank God, I tested negative. Sadly, though, my son got the cold, too. Anyway, there is so much more to Denmark than the coldness it brought to my Asian skin and lungs. We enjoyed the clean and green parks, the crisp air despite the presence of automobiles, and all the other Europe stuff and sights that wowed my eyes (watch the video).  As for food, it is funny because I went for Thai food for my first lunch. It's in the video. It cost me DKK300 (about PhP2,300 for three kinds of dishes good for two to three people). Yes, pricey! This leads me to my third takeaway: The cost of living...

Revenge travel is real. After the series of lockdowns amid a pandemic, someone like me only used to imagine leaving the house for new scenery. But now, it was a relief when an opportunity to fly came. That opportunity was in Japan. So, I did not hesitate to say "yes" to applying for a business visa and extending my stay for some leisure. The first few days of my trip were part of my earlier blog . I had three days to revisit some parts of Tokyo and Ota City in Gunma Prefecture. The latter is where my cousin and her family live. I had not seen them for 12 years. The last time I visited was in 2010 when my nephew and nieces were still young. They have been living in Japan for more than 20 years. They already speak the language fluently and have become accustomed to the country's lifestyle. They are Filipinos, so we spoke in Tagalog at their home. Anyway, my cousin toured me around.
